Teeth Whitening

What is Teeth whitening?

Teeth whitening is one of the most effective ways of cosmetically improving your smile quickly and effectively. Teeth whitening works through the use of an application of a whitening gel which interacts with the tooth surface to remove surface staining and discolouration, whilst changing the internal colour in order to lighten the teeth shade overall.

Is teeth whitening right for you?

The best way to keep your smile healthy and bright is to look after your teeth and gums. However, it’s not unusual to need a little help. Perhaps you smoke, or your teeth have been stained by tea, coffee or red wine. They may also lose their whiteness with age. Fortunately, our professional teeth whitening treatments can repair discolouration quickly and safely without damaging the enamel or any other part of your teeth. It can be used as a individual treatment or work in combination with other cosmetic treatments to give you an overall brighter smile.

How does it work?

You’ll need to attend for a consultation and we will discuss your desires and carry out an assessment to give you an individualised plan.

Once this is done, we will take moulds of your teeth to produce your bespoke whitening trays.

We will invite you back and ensure your trays are a good fit and provide you with your home teeth whitening kit and demonstrate how to carry out the procedure effectively.

Frequently Asked Questions

There is no permanent damage caused to the enamel or any tooth structures by tooth whitening.

Typically, you can expect the whitening result from teeth whitening to last for a couple of years. The results will last longer if you try avoiding staining foods and drinks such as red wine, coffee or lifestyle choices such as smoking.

If you feel the results are fading a little – not to worry. The great news is that the whitening trays you have will last a lifetime so you can grab a syringe of whitening gel when you come to visit us and start topping up your teeth to regain that sparkle!

There is always a natural limit to how white teeth whitening can get your teeth. After a course of whitening, we can review your results and see if any further treatment is recommended.
